Prescription & Consultation
Botulinum Toxin is a prescription-only medicine (POM) and is therefore only provided following appropriate clinical assessment.
Before treatment, your suitability will be carefully assessed, including your medical history, current medications, treatment goals and any factors that may make treatment unsuitable or require additional consideration.
As part of the prescribing process, you will be required to have a face-to-face consultation with an appropriately qualified prescriber. This allows the prescriber to assess you personally and, where clinically appropriate, issue an individual prescription for your treatment.
A prescription does not automatically mean that treatment will go ahead. Your practitioner will complete a further assessment on the day of treatment and will only proceed where treatment is considered safe, appropriate and in your best interests.
